I've been wondering for ages when you'd do that Cheesy.

Ah well, I had to give it a thought or two. Wink

If it does happen that you're on a shift by yourself, though, don't worry about the time zone thing - when the Cill started, we had one or two members in Australia, so the matter was discussed, and it was decided that each person would keep their shift from sunset to sunset on their local time, and we wouldn't worry about whether they matched up.  My personal theory is that Brigid herself covers any gaps - also, there are a couple of members who keep the flame every day, not just on their own shift.

Oh ok, thanks. Smiley

Now I just gotta get me some things that I can keep flame at work.
(But that will be no problem, I guess.)

Brigidine Cills (all of them, not just ours) use a 20-day cycle, so there's no way for a shift to always be on a weekday.  I know there's info in the Cill's older threads about ways to keep one's shift when it's awkward or impossible to have a candle, such as when at work or school, so you can check the archives, or start a new thread asking about it.  Or, if you feel you really can't combine your Cill shift with work, you can post asking if someone will switch shifts on the occasions when your shift falls on a weekend.

Ooh, I should have realised that. Okay, can I have the ninth or the nineteenth, please? Smiley

*raises hand* I thought that since this month is my birthday - both my physical 21st birthday and the four-year anniversary of dedicating myself as a Pagan - and I've been following Brighid for almost four months straight, it'd be good to finally dive into the Cill. Smiley I've got no preference for any dates, so you can squeeze me in where you think I'm most needed.

You're another one that I've been wondering when you'd join us Cheesy.

Since we just did the annual roster cleanup, I don't have any shift flagged as "most needed", so what I'll do is put you on the 14th shift with Dara, and you can start during this cycle at sunset on your birthday if you like.  If that's too soon for you (some people are eager to start right away, others like lots of time to prepare - as you can see from reading this thread), no problem; you can wait until next cycle, and at least it gave me an easy way to decide where to put you.

That's absolutely perfect, thank you so much! That gives me enough time to prepare without too much time to twiddle my thumbs. Cheesy

Do you have any preferences about which shift you'd like?

Not really. Full-time study being what it is, I have little getting in the way of schedule as it is.

In that case, I'll put you on the 17th shift, with Collinsky - in the cycle that's about to start, that'll be on 8 Apr (from sunset 8 Apr to sunset 9 Apr - that'll be your local sunset; if we had to match up for the sunset times of Cill members around the world, we probably wouldn't be doing this at all; that'd be more work than we're really able to put in).  I originally thought of this because Collinsky was unsure if she should continue with us, but I see she's had clear indications that continuing would be a good idea - but, since it's not long after roster cleanup time and we've taken in a few new members since then, there's no shift that stands out as a place we need to fill, so I'll stick with that.  Welcome to the Cill!

I would like to be a part of this.  Brigid has been a major part of my life for 20 years now.  This would be a wonderful way to honor that.  I have no preference for shift.

Thank you

<looks at JuniperMorgan's profile for possible clues> I roll sevens.  How 'bout the seventh shift, which you'll share with Karen?  The next one is 29 Mar.

Welcome to the Cill, and to TC, JuniperMorgan!
