Are you sure you weren't looking at the computer screen upside-down around post# 1337?

 Grin
Cheesy I just came home from work and shopping thereafter (and got into hail on the way back). Believe me, I'm in no condition to do the gym you need for this kind of perception. Wink

Um, funnily my post count spells 'leet' instead of numbers. I have no idea what 'leet' means. Shocked Huh

It seems to be a quirk of this program that it spells out leet when you hit post # 1337.  We first noticed it when a staff member (Star, I think) hit it.  We think it was an in-joke, since in 'leet-speak' (computer geek code) 1337 is how that is spelled.

I believe it is meant to be short for 'elite', but I'm not really up on it.

Yeah, it was me.  I think I had the same reaction Passionfruit had at first, and then realized what must be happening and laughed.  Cheesy

Not computer geek code, though.  *shudder*  Most of us computer geeks do know how to use our keyboards properly, instead of making the things we type illegible just because they'll look cool if we, say, substitute number ones for L's or 3's for E's because they sort of kind of look similar...ish.  And misspelling everything anyway, thus making ourselves even harder to understand.

It appears to have ported my login time over from the old server; I'm at 110 days now.  LOL

I'm glad it did, but I can't figure out why it would have.  Undecided

<nod> It was slang among the hacker-wannabes in the '90s (and possibly earlier, I'm not sure).  Some of 'em were geeks, but most of 'em were "script kiddies" - they didn't write programming codes, and mostly couldn't to save their lives, they just swapped pre-written code.

We just copied the code and the database from the old server, so just about all the cruft your account has accumulated should still be there.

Cruft?

I'm thinking you don't mean the dog show (with an "s" at the end) in the UK.  Huh

Cruft?

Cruft is another word for "stuff" specifically stuff that accumulates over time and may or may not be really useful. The word was originally used for dust under the bed as I recall.

And here I thought you'd jammed the words "stuff" and "crap" together and mixed an extra T up at the end somehow...  I learn something new every day.

It's a fairly obscure word. I forget that sometimes.
