The funny thing is that the first few chapters of genesis contradict each other, both in the order and timeframe of creation.

According to a normal reading thereof, they sure do. However the literal reading/intepretation done by fundamentals manages to combine them into one whole -- provided one doesn't actually read the first two chapters of Genesis and think about it too much.

Some examples of this way of reading things:

I fail to see how that's my problem.

Besides, that wasn't mocking.  That was honesty.

Mocking was when I asked about the drowning fish.  And I didn't even GET to the fleeing wombats!

What was with the fleeing wombats?

Randall, stop that, I just woke up and reading Fundiebabble like that hurt my brain.

Although I like that they credit Adam himself as being the author of the first part of Genesis. Especially since from what I've read various experts believe Moses wrote the Torah sometime around 1100-1500 BCE.

They also claim (all of the stuff I'm talking about is from the first link) that the Flood so greatly changed the Earth's... geography? topography? that none of the named locations or land features/masses would have remained.
But Adam's four or five chapters of Genesis somehow survived.

Maybe Noah took copies of them with him on the Ark?

Am I correct in understanding that you believe we reincarnate until we have been born into each astrological sign?

If so, is that just Sun signs (12 lifetimes per individual) or Sun/ Moon sign combos (144ish lifetimes per individual)?

Just curiou s, I believe in reincarnation, and have heard many different ideas as to the defferences between lifetimes, but I've never heard anything Astrology based.

I believe that we must do the Sun signs, but then again you may have abused that Sun sign and have to do that sun sign again because we abused that sign.I have read before that your moon sign indicates your most recent lifetime, for instance I have an Aries moon. This means to me that I was a warrior of some kind.

How does one abuse a sign?

We have been around forever, we are just a circle with no manmade time involved we just keep on this Karmic Wheel, when we perfect our earthly sojourns into each astrological sign then we will be set free. Some souls are younger than others, not the Earth itself. What evil thing is letting this happen.Sure, if there is a hell , than this is it.

Can you please explain how we could have been around forever when all scientific evidence says otherwise?

I suppose the other issue is: since when was time man-made?

Yeah, I don't know about you but I'm unable to create time.  If I could, than I wouldn't be stressing about that approaching midterm Cheesy

What was with the fleeing wombats?

It's a way to explain why there are marsupial FOSSILS all over the planet, but they only really stayed a viable way of reproducing on Australia.

Basically the argument is that the Ark got parked and everyone got out, and the marsupials took off, going 'round the world being chased by placental animals.

Problem is, other than stuff like kangaroos, most marsupials are slooooooooooow critters.  So - we're supposed to believe the wombats went running across the world until they got to Australia JUST before the placental animals, and God ever-so-nicely gave it a boot across the ocean so those mean animals wouldn't finish them off.

Sorry - I'm not.  That's the argument.

And if you're thinking about something like kangaroos, it's weird, but nothing more.

but .. wombats?  KOALAS?  Koalas move once a month and that's under protest!

Ain't it priceless?
