I can't for the life of me remember, maybe they were just angelic beings-could have been from the Bible, but I doubt it.

Gesundheit. Grin And yes, that sounds like what she meant. At first I thought it might be the Greek gods, but they weren't much punished for producing demigods. <insert bow-chika-wow-wow icon.>

I heard somewhere that Gods and Goddesses were not to be fornicating with mortals, but did it anyway and got punished and thus this made a species of half human and half Gods, somehow they disapeared too.

I remember hearing or reading this somewhere too......I'll have to look it up because now it's gonna' drive me crazy Wink

The term was Demi-Gods

OK, I know there are demi gods in Greek mythology, and something called semi devils in Buddhism, but I don't have the time to research specific names at the moment.

OK, I know there are demi gods in Greek mythology,

Oh, there certainly are--but I don't recall there being rules about gods fornicating with mortals that got broken to create them.

That's because there were none.  The only thing that comes close is Hera attacking Zeus' mortal mistresses and bastard children but that had more to do with infidelity.

It doesn't seem like other gods got into much trouble when they slept with mortals and sired half-mortal offspring.

I'm not sure, but I think Marvel Comics is involved somehow.

I've been racking my brain trying to remember where I read about Deities not have carnal realationships with mortals, and I think I've figured it out. (sort of)

I think I read something to this effect in a novel, something about keys, and if I remember correctly it was a mix of fictional Celtic Mythology and fictional real life. A late night converstion with my sister after a few glasses of wine  Smiley brought this conversation about, so please don't quote me.

It sounds like it got pulled right out of Rick Riordan's "The Lightning Thief" to be honest.
