I know this probably doesn't go here, but I'd like everyone's input.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggesdtions for books on poetry or pagan poetry?

Not pagan per se, but with naturalistic sensibilities (esp. if you are interested in cosmology as expressed in nature, and humanity's place in it):  Don Domanski's All Our Wonder Unavenged. When this collection was awarded the GGLA for poetry last year, the judgement declared it "a deeply moving vision about the intricacies of the everyday world. A spiritual and metaphysical triumph.” And I agree - it's a present favourite.

Thanks to everyone who's given me suggestions. I've checked out about ten different books on poetry from my library. I haven't found the poem I'm looking for yet, but I hope to soon. I'm getting anxious to start filling in my new BOS (or in my case my Great Big Book of Everything)  Grin

You might like Joolz Denby- http://www.joolz-denby.co.uk/  Technically, she's probably best described as a poet that happens to be Pagan, but she's very good.

She also sometimes performs with the group Red Sky Coven- http://www.newmodelarmy.org/news_RSC.htm

People who talk about revolution and class struggle without referring explicitly to everyday life, without understanding what is subversive about love and what is positive in the refusal of constraints, such people have a corpse in their mouth.

I've been doing poetry searches on the net and came across PoetryAmerica.com. While I was there I came across this poem.

Um - what?

You can't remove a copyright.  It's someone's legal right to their work.

Removing that would be .. well, theft.

Thanks for the heads up, HeartShadow - Genevieve Wood. Good thing to know I won't be doing that again. I'll make sure I don't copy another person's work.

If anyone would like to share poems that's great too. I would also love to find a poem about the moon.

I wrote this poem in 1998

The Stars Laugh While The Moon Weeps

The stars laugh while the moon weeps
They do not see
They only search
The hosts unknowing
Bodies follow
Souls shudder at recognition
Having walked together before
Some kill each other
A few will love and challenge the sky brights
The stars laugh while the moon weeps

I'm going to be filling in a hard-bound bok of shadows, my first hard -bound. My other has been a 3-ring binder I've dubbed The Great Big Book of Everything.

I'm asking this because I'd like to put a poem or two on the first page. On the inside of the cover I have a sticker by Nene Thomas. It's a fairy sitting on a crescent moon.

If anyone would like to share poems that's great too. I would also love to find a poem about the moon.

Any help is welcome! Cheesy

Hello,

This is not about the Moon but something that inspires me. It may not fit into your book of shadows but it's something I would like to share.

The song of Amairgen from The book of Invasions

I am the Wind that blows across the Sea;
I am the Wave of the Ocean;
I am the Murmur of the Billows;
I am the Bull of the Seven Combats;
I am the Vulture on the Rock;
I am a Ray of the Sun;
I am the Fairest of Flowers;
I am a Wild Boar in Valour;
I am a Salmon in the Pool;
I am a Lake on the Plain;
I am the Skill of the Craftsman;
I am a Word of Science;
I am the Spear-point that gives Battle;
I am the God who creates in the head of man the Fire of Thought;
Who is it that Enlightens the Assembly upon the mountain, if not I?
Who tells the ages of the moon, if not I?
Who shows the place where the sun goes to rest, if not I?
Who calls the cattle from the House of Tethra?
On whom do the cattle of Tethra smile?
Who is the God who fashions enchantments-
-the enchantments of Battle and the Winds of change?

I hope that you will have a beautiful time looking for the right poems and pieces of literature for your book of shadows.

blessed be,

Aerin

I've never heard of him. Can he be found at Borders or Barnes and Noble?

Thanks for the help.

Wow ivywine, this is a pretty poem. Where did you find this? Or did you write it? Thanks for the help.
