So...what are your plans for Samhain this year? Do tell!  Smiley

*sigh* Such days are the only time I really miss a coven or a community in rl.
I at least managed to decorate the altar.

In the gaulic-celtic open air museum they'll do a samhain fire again.
I'd like to go there, really, but I can't, I called in sick at work this morning. Sad
I would be to tired anyway - this cold I caught sucks.

But I will make some notes and burn them, as a little spell for the new year.

I'll be having a dumb supper for my mother who died this summer. Only reason i would ever cook roast beef.  Cheesy

Later I will formally invite the ancestors, who might be a little miffed that their old spirit home was destroyed last month with the house I moved out of, to come inhabit the new one I made. They can be pissy about the formalities (even mom) so I'm spending the day baking honey treats to soothe them.

In between I'll be handing out candy at the door. New city, new neighbours, so I don't know how many to expect. Maybe just the four-year old next door, since it's a controlled entry building, but if I run out of chocolate I can hand out pop, and if I don't I can put the leftovers in hubby's lunches. He's been stealing them all week anyway.  Roll Eyes

I'll be doing my formal sealing of the new place as well at some point. Good day for it, what with the baking and the spirits and all. My fox face has been sitting in a wooden box in the trunk of the car all month - last thing to be brought in by tradition, but she's getting impatient.

Long night, followed by a 300km trip tomorrow to do card readings for family and friends back home. Thankfully only a few clients here so far, and they're not into the All Saints thing (or at least they haven't called me about it - just as good) and the old ones don't know I'm coming. I recommended a good reader for them when I left and I think they've made the switch successfully (sniff).

Sunday will be spent sleeping and eating leftovers.

Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in

It turned out pretty good. Most of the interesting stuff happened in the beginning though so I didn't feel bad about falling asleep at 11!  Tongue

You know I still haven't watched it.  I might just wait for the episode when they condense it all down to one hour.
