WARNING: This information is from 2008 and is out of date. Donor members have many more special features now. See this message for up to date information: DONATE: Become a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Donor (or a Cauldron Supporter).

As you probably know, The Cauldron: A Pagan Forum is no longer on a free server and now needs monthly donations to pay for our Virtual Private Server.  While we will be happy to accept donations in any amount directly through Paypal, we've noticed that most donations are in the amounts of 5, 10, or 15 US dollars. We've decided to create some one-month long minor special benefits for people who make these common donations via our new "Donation Subscription" feature in the Profile area (go to your Profile and click on the "Donation Subscriptions" link in the Manage Profile menu). Update 8 Nov 2008: You now also have the option to donate for a full year at once as well as for a month at a time as well as the optionto  setup an automatic monthly Paypal subscription that will renew your donor status each month.

Bronze Donors (US$5.00 donation), Silver Donors (US$10.00 donation), and Gold Donors (US$15.00) currently get the following special benefits:
  • A special Bronze/Silver/Gold Donor badge that will appear in all your posts
  • Access to our private Donor Areas

Silver and Gold Donors also get these additional benefits:
  • Access to a few additional format options (more for Gold than for Silver)
  • Access to our all public social boards (Full members already have this)
  • Access to our Arcade Games (Full members already have this, more for Gold than Silver)

All benefits last for one month (from the date you donate). They can be extended by donating again through the Paid Subscription area of your Profile.

If you want to make a very large donation at one time and want board benefits for it, talk to the hosts. We have Silver Patron and Gold Patron status available and we can do multiple months at once at the Silver and Gold Donor levels.

at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Donor Level

Thanks in Advance for your donations!

Bronze, Silver, and Gold Donors: You now also have the option to donate for a full year at once as well as for a month at a time as well as the option to setup an automatic monthly Paypal subscription that will renew your donor status each month. All from the same place: go to your Profile and click on the "Donation Subscriptions" link in the Manage Profile menu.

Randall,

I just wanted to let you know that I just set up a recurring donation. My paypal email account is different from the email I use here, but I went through my profile... so if something didn't quite go through right, at least you know who the donation from the "terpette" email is.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Thank you, Karen!  It looks like it worked to me. It is showing your account as a Gold Donor in the admin area.  It should also show in the Donation Subscriptions area of your profile.

I'm not sure if you have the pm activated or not.
Just wanted to let you know that snail mail is on its way.

Nothing yet, but international mail can take forever.

Oh yes, I think before end of the next week there is nothing to expect.
I even guess it might arrive middle of the week after.
But I don't have experiences with Texas though.
Utah took about 2 weeks.

It should be about the same to Texas. Of course, some of the US Mail times just seem random.  IT can take anywhere from 2 days to a week for a letter to go from Waco, TX to my mother in Bowling Green, KY depending on who knows what.

Yeah, but I think that's something going on in the KY area. Nothing else seems to be quite so sporadic.

Somethings can not be explained concerning the mysteries of the mail-service.
When my Mom was in New York, a letter took 10 days.
When she was in Italy it took 3 (yes, three!) weeks - and that was quick!

I will say this, shipping stuff to Italy (we sell a lot on eBay) is generally where we've run into problems. I don't think any country in Europe has given us as much trouble over the years.

I'm not sure what Italy's problem is, but their postal service is consistently the slowest in the western world for mail from the US. I dread having someone in Italy buy something from us on eBay because getting it to them is going to take forever --and then some.

Yeah I know, it is incredible.
I mean the distance between her place and mine was about an 8 hours car ride? *shakes head*

::sigh:: Paypal told me you did.  Who knows?  Apparently not Paypal.

However, from what I've read Paypal seems to cancel them if there is any problem. Payments not going through fast enough (i.e. slow Internet days), etc.
