I was wondering... Since we have a Teen section, why not a section for Young Adults?

College life is way different than Teen life and our classes are way different...

This is just a suggestion, but thought I would put it up for thought.

I'm not a mod or host, so I can't say for sure, but my understanding of the teen board is for minors who are interested in Paganism and/or practicing Paganism to express their experiences and questions in that vein.  I don't think it's intended to be a "Well I'm writing a paper on the history of political satire, anyone have any ideas?"

Basically what I failed to express (my brain's on low battery after a long day) is that teens have issues with parents and teachers who may not be understanding or accepting of their religious studies or beliefs.  In fact, they can be totally opposed to it in the extreme. Generally that's not a big concern in a college setting.

True, I do get what you are saying.

The college I attend does have a strong Christian influence, it's not a Christian-based college though. So being Pagan or whatever one calls themselves outside of Christian does face some opposition. Even the Catholic community here on campus does...

But then again, I see what you're saying... Here I go running in circles...

Understandable, I actually chose a Catholic college, so it was ... an interesting experience shall we say?  I'm sure you'd be more than welcome to discuss how to deal with any related issues in the forum, in the teen section or otherwise.  Again, not staff, but that's my take.

Adults are adults. The purpose of the Teen section was to give teens a place to discuss teen issues where they would not annoy uninterested adults and vice versa.

*nods*  In the field of children's lit, "Young Adult" (YA) lit is lit for teenagers.

I tend to agree with you, Sperran and Catja as far as setting up a section like Teen Place on the regular board goes, but something does occur to me.  Would you be willing to set up a SIG for college students, if there is enough interest and someone volunteers to lead it?

That would be really neat.

After giving it some thought, I have to agree with you, Sperran and Catja. I hope you don't think less of me for suggesting the YA aspect.  Embarrassed

Why would we think less of you?  This board is for suggestions. We may not be able to/need to/want to implement every suggestion we get, but that doesn't mean the person who made the suggestion is somehow bad.

Although we might have thoughts along those lines if anyone suggests celebrating Hitler's birthday...

If there's enough interest for one, I think that'd be a good idea.
