Palin Didn't Know Africa Is A Continent, Says Fox News

According to Fox News Chief White House Correspondent, there was great concern within the McCain campaign that Palin lacked "a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency," in part because she didn't know which countries were in NAFTA, and she "didn't know that Africa was a continent."

I really am coming to love learning more about how stupid this woman is ...

Thank the gods that she won't get anywhere near the Oval Office anytime soon.  Continents...that's something normally taught in elementary school, right?  I wish she will never be elected to any national office due to forever being a laughing stock.

I hope so, too.  But somehow there are some people who still think she's an amazing woman.  Shocked  I don't get it.

I am completely amazed by her, but not in a good way.

LOL!

I'd bet that most of the members of this board are also amazed by her in the not-so-good way.

THIS is the one they wanted in the VP seat?  I guess for some it fits their little box perfectly: the all-knowing man with the ditzy but pretty and supportive woman at his side.  I wonder how Palin will fare in Alaska from now on.

And don't forget, folks, the McCain campaign advisors and suchlike supposedly vetted this woman and said she was the one to pick.

Campbell Brown wrote a great piece over on CNN.com today pointing that out--"Don't blame her, YOU told him to pick her..." (heavily paraphrased and condensed)

Not saying that excuses her in any way, but, also quoting Brown here, "She is who she is."

Wouldn't hurt her possible 2012 Presidential bid one bit. Remember all the Bush jokes about how he couldn't pronounce words and jumbled his speeches? There were even books and those Bush quote-a-day calendars and the man was re-elected.  Angry

I ran into a couple of people (I won't mention their what their IQs must have been) who actually wished they could vote for Palin! They seem to think this was American Presidential Idol ! Roll Eyes  Gods!

At least with Obama elected I have renewed faith in humanity.

I honestly think that Republican operatives have leaked these details in an attempt to cripple Governor Sarah Palin's future political plans. They must know what a train wreck she would create for "God's Own Party", should she win the nomination for President in 2012. A Palin candidacy would help the Democrats consolidate and expand upon their 2008 election gains, as they profit from the USA's changing demographics.

Besides, these calculated leaks will greatly please [former Governors] Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, who are surely already positioning themselves for the 2012 campaign. Huckabee's ambitions concern me, because he is a vastly more capable person than Palin but shares her hardline ideology.

Even so, given Senator McCain's health and great age, I myself breathe one more sigh of relief that Governor Palin did not become Vice President-elect Palin.

Huckabee is the one I never could figure out. He should have gotten a whole lot more RR support than he did. He was the one who scared me (well, after Rudy Guliani who REALLY scared me). Frankly any of the GOP who leans to the guns, god, gays side scares me.

GOP commentator George Will has intimated in the past that the Team Corporate America faction of the Republican Party is nervous about Huckabee. The possibility that President Huckabee might be a Christian in more than name with regard to social justice issues, and might use his faith as a powerful justification to actually reign in corporate abuses, genuinely frightens them.

After all, how can the pro-business wing of the GOP accuse Mike Huckabee of being an evil, godless 'socialist'? They're the ones who've collectively hitched their wagon to the Christian Right horse. They created Huckabee, but they don't have the power to take him down.

I think that Corporate America's wariness of Huckabee, plus the knowledge that his candidacy will be greeted with outright hostility by many independent voters, has compelled many pragmatic Christian Right activists within the Republican Party to back other candidates instead.
