What's your favorite herbs to work with and why?

Mine would probably be Sage because of the way I feel when I use it in food and in smudge sticks/incense (although I have bought the ground sage and put it in a glass container with salt and burned it... doesn't smell as great as the sticks/incense). I feel like all the negativity in my life at that moment is leaving and that I'm being restored to a proper state of mind in which I can focus again.

I also like to use Parsley, Basil, and Rosemary in cooking just not sure of how I would use them in magic just yet... I do need to brush up on my herbalism since it's been a while since I remembered their uses.

Rosemary for cleansing or burning as incense, mainly because I love the sweet smell it makes, but also because it's seemed to be very effective and powerful. I like to make rosemary and cedar wands to burn instead of sage. I like the smell of sage, but many of the people I visit who want me to smudge them or their house don't, but I've never met anyone who didn't like the smell of rosemary smoke.
Peppermint, valerian, and chamomile for medicinal uses. I drink a cup or two of peppermint and chamomile tea a day, and use valerian tea whenever I can't sleep.
Dandelion, parsley, basil, for eating and comfrey and plantain for wounds.

For me it's lavender and mint for cleansing and calming, rosemary for protection, basil and garlic for energy and health, mugwort and verbena for magic, oats and oatstraw for comfort, parsley for love, dandelions for strength...many more but these are my favorites for cooking, teas, oils, etc.
For incense I love amber and sandalwood.

I love Lavender, I wear it everyday, it helps keep me calm and it smells so nice and clean.

Sage is great for purification, and it smells nice.

Mint is helpful for slightly problematic bowels, to flavor cold water (It makes it taste cool and clean), it smells nice too.

chamomile is relaxing and i just love to smell my hands after picking it. I also use it to make tea when I'm down or just don't feel good. Or if I'm too wired to sleep it relaxes me enough so that I can.

for cooking i love using basil.

I really just like plants, I have a decent sized herb garden and pretty mush, if I grow it I use it. I also grow dill, parsley, corriander, rosemary and oregano.

Then there are plants i gather, self heal, dandelion, plantain, chicory, i love chicory, jewelweed, plus more.

Blueheron, please remember to quote even when replying to the first post - only VERY very general posts do not need quotes.  (like "thanks everyone" type things).  In this case, I would think the first post of the thread would have been appropriate.

Thank you.
