Good morning,

   I have looked at the archives, lurked a bit, and have decided to ask for some advice.

First, a bit of background.  I first learned about Hellenistic paganism when I was very young, about the age of five or six, with an old copy of Funk and Wagnalls encyclopedia, a copy of Bulfinchís Mythology, and the Readerís Digest version of the Odyssey.

That was when I first met Aphrodite and, well, it wasnít a kind meeting.  What I perceived as negative traits filled me with a strange anger which only grew as I got older.  I saw her as the avatar of all I disliked in women and in much of life.  I was young, passionate, and quite foolish.

As I got older it mellowed to sort of a distant dislike, an old scar that only aches when itís about to rain.  Very recently I looked back on my life and I think that I should at least try to ask forgiveness of Aphrodite and do as much reparations as I can.

So, anybody have any suggestions on how I can do that?  If I need to elaborate on anything I will be happy to.

Thank you for your time,

Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous...

He reads much;
He is a great observer and he looks
Quite through the deeds of men: he loves no plays,
As thou dost, Antony; he hears no music;
Seldom he smiles, and smiles in such a sort
As if he mock'd himself and scorn'd his spirit
That could be moved to smile at any thing.
Such men as he be never at heart's ease
Whiles they behold a greater than themselves,
And therefore are they very dangerous.

I would probably start with an apology accompanying by a very nice sacrifice.

Good idea.  What would be considered a good sacrifice?  Perfumes, fruits?

Sounds like you're moving in the right direction.

Also, IME, expensive, hand made high quality chocolate works well. Especially if it happens to be embossed with gold leaf  Wink   A single perfect piece would be enough. And champagne. (Something about bubbles evoking sea-foam works for me.)

Those would do, also good chocolate as Caroline suggested. This time of year, I'd probably go with chocolate myself.
