It appears that the lack of free chocolate is a widespread concern.  This really should be addressed immediately  Wink

Come now, we have Oaksworn's 5 minute chocolate mug cake recipe.  That's almost like free chocolate.

How organized, simple, yet professional the forum site feels. First thing I noticed was how easy the layout is to navigate, and how there were hardly any distractions, if any at all here.

You can thank Randall for that.  He's all about user-friendly.

1) Why are you at The Cauldron: A Pagan Forum?
To learn, grow and share on my spiritual journey

2) What brings you here instead of elsewhere?
I did try a few forums out but stayed here for the chocolate - no?  Ok, I stayed because the discussions here are not sugar coated.  Members are thoughtful, helpful but also not afraid to state their opinions or challenge you on yours.  I also LOVE all the information available for newbies like myself.  I've spent hours reading them and found them more helpful than anything else on the net.

3) What do you get (or hope to get) out of The Cauldron?
A sense of who I am spiritually and companionship.  A place to discuss my thoughts and hear others.

4) What (if anything) really impresses you about The Cauldron?
See #2  Smiley  Again, all the information available for newbies like myself.  I can spend hours here reading the resources or current posts and it leads me to ask more questions, do more research etc.  Also, nobody makes fun of my poor spelling and typos Tongue

5) What (if anything) really disappoints you about The Cauldron?
Nothing really, but I've never been on a forum that requires you to quote another post when replying to a thread.  It's a bit odd to get used to and I don't always love it, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it disappoints me.

GFIs?  GFI means "Ground Fault Interrupter" to me. I suspect you are referring to something else. Huh

Oh. That was sort of obvious now that you point it our to me. GIFs should work here however. I don't think the software cares what type of images you use.

I believe the complaint is that we don't allow ANIMATED images.

This answers both 1 & 2:
I found this place by chance.  I have been part of various forums for quite some time now.  Ever since the first one that I was part of I was unlucky in the forums that I found.  Either not enough people on them, low quality of conversation, or too much drama.  I am here and have remained here thus far due to the people here and those that run the forum are professional and fair in their dealings.

What I hope to get out of this forum and have thus far is to make connections, have conversations, and exchange ideas with people who are both like minded and not like minded in a way that is neither hostile or pushy.  So far a success.

I am impressed and disappointed by the same thing.  The level of organization & professionalism that the forum mods use to run & manage this forum.  While it is refreshing to participate in a forum such as this (and I would not do without), it is annoying (a childish reaction & emotion I will admit) to not be able to post to certain areas of the forum.  About 90% of the threads I wish to post to are in those areas.

Yes, particularly we need the special quote BBCode that the "Reply/Quote" button generates (which provides a link to the message being quoted). Putting in a quote manually does not generate this backlink code.
I wont be lazzy. I'll copy and paste it.  Like I did ith this message.
