A bunch of us have been chattering excitedly about this elsewhere (http://www.ecauldron.net/forum/index.php?topic=7543.0), but I thought I'd mention it here, since this is where the thread will reside:

All night on Saturday, Dec. 20/the wee hours of Sunday, Dec. 21, a bunch of us Cauldronites who stay awake all night to celebrate the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere will do it here at the Cauldron, online--and all are welcome to join the party, whether you're staying up all night or not!

Come with stories to share, come to join the banter, come to hear us sleep-deprived crazies rant and rave...but COME! On Saturday, Dec. 20, look for the thread titled "Up All Night: A Technopagan Winter Solstice 2008", right here in the Pagan Religions 101 folder.

If nothing else, it should be interesting...

I'll check in for sure.  I won't be staying up all night, I have a 4 year old who will be up to open presents at 0'Dark:Stupid....

Same here, my 4 year old tends to wake up at 6 anyway, but that close to X-mas she'll be up earlier I'm sure!

I will be unable to post, as I will be holding vigil with the aides and other nurse at work.

My daughter and I are planning on staying up and keeping the yule fire going in the chimnea...outside...in Ohio...yes, we're nuts, but I will check in.

I'll be going off to bed in the wee hours and leaving my party pooper husband to get up with my four year old.  And my three year old, and my one year old.  Grin

I'll try to stay up all night and post as my internet allows. It's been terribly sketchy of late.

In all likelyhood I'll be in chat and/or the Mux most of that day/night, assuming nothing comes up.

I'll try to remember to check in when we get back from the local ADF Yule ritual (which, for once is NOT the same day as my coven holiday ritual). I'm working some of that weekend so I can store up a bit of extra time for our holiday excursion to visit in-laws, so I won't be able to stay up all night. *sigh*
