I haven't tried this, but I think I saw someone's profile with a different theme.

Just for information.
It seems not possible to change anything about the font itself.
The profile will take changes with colors, background-pics, but not the font itself.

That may have something to do with the way it displays as part of TC. If so, I doubt it can be fixed.

Not a problem, really.
I just wanted to tell, so that nobody wonders why they can't change the fonts. Smiley

I've registered for the TCN and have not received confirmation. I gave a different email address than the one I use here, could that be a reason? They are both Gmail accounts...

I haven't seen any membership TCN membership requests with your message board name attached to them.  None are pending now.

Ok, I think I've sorted it out. I was using my real first name instead of my message board name. Thank you for the quick reply to my post. I resent a request.

As I was still online, I just approved it.

Need help using TCN - The Cauldron Network? Ask questions here and we'll do our best to answer. (You might look through the thread first in case your question as already been answered.)

I am rather new to forums as well as computers, I have been trying to practice my posting in the intros page...I have read and re-read the instructions for posting...they are simple and clear..and I am somewhat embarassed as I can't seem to get it right. I hit the reply and quote button, this brings the entire field into a box where I can reply. I highlight the sentence I want to retain..and then I must be missing a step because the entire writ stays in the field. I also don't see the quick reply button. I will keep trying but will refrain from posting untill I can do it correctly...I really want to be here but like I said I am inexperienced with forums and posting..  Thank you,

Sometimes when the planets align and the gods are on your side you can highlight the part you want to keep, then hit the quote/reply button, and only that part will appear in the quote box.  The rest of the time you just have to use your backspace button or the highlight and cut method to take out what you don't want.

The quick reply button is gone because it doesn't insert the quote, and just copying the part you are replying to doesn't insert the linkback, so basically the function was useless for us.  I do use the quick reply box itself (I set it up that way in my profile) but it appears with the full quote in it when I hit quote/reply.  If I want to do anything fancy, though, like use more than one quote or italicize a word or two then I have to hit preview and do it in the full reply screen anyway.  (I can't remember code to save my life, so I need the buttons in the full reply screen).

In other words, you're not doing anything wrong.  You just have to trim manually and then make sure to start your reply after the [/end quote] part.  Your post (the one I'm replying to) looks just fine, except that it's in the help thread for the TCN board rather than the message board.  TCN is a sort of facebook-y social networking site attached to the message board.  I don't use it much so I can't really explain it, but it is a separate thing.
