The Magical, Mystical World of SPAM

When it comes to food, I rarely turn down a dare. Whether the food in question is haggis or headcheese, tongue tacos or tortoise soup, I'm usually up for a challenge. Even so, there is one food that I have studiously avoided for my entire life.

Spam.

I am like you.  I'm very adventurous with food, except in the case of canned meat.  There's just something about meat....in a can?Huh?  I think I've had spam once, and that was all it took.  Ditto those hot dog things that come in a can.  Gross.

The Magical, Mystical World of
SPAM

I think Christopher Moore would be amused at his novel is being used as an historical source.  While he did a lot of research about cannibalism and cargo cults, he freely admits the large amounts of artistic license he took in Island of the Sequined Love Nun.  Wink

Having lived in Alaska, I can tell you the Great White (American) North is near-equally obsessed with Spam.

Sounds like the title of a musical. Dancing cans, smiling meat costumes, anti-vegetarian lyrics...

That was my first thought, too.  I didn't realize right away that the thread was started by Lyric herself, and was looking forward to seeing the original message in the staff folder (some of them are just absurd - being able to see them in their glory has been a sort of perk for me ever since I joined the staff).

I think we all must be being extra annoying lately, and have inadvertently activated Lyricfox's spam reflex.
