My name is Brian, most people call me Bri (my nickname).  I am a 20-year old male residing in North Carolina.  I've currently decided to follow the Craft a little bit more than I have in the past.  I'm definitely interested in researching Hellenism, mainly because I've always been attracted to the Goddess Hekate and the God Hermes.  I guess even when I felt like abandoning the Craft, they stood by me and whispered, "All in good time, my child, all in good time."

I'm definitely excited to be a member here... In the past I've always seen the Beehive message boards and had zero familiarity with that type of message board... so boy, am I ever glad a change was made.  I'm definitely accustomed to this layout.  Grin

Glad to be here and can't wait to meet others around here on The Cauldron: A Pagan Forum.

Although I am new myself, welcome!  We can venture forth together.

One thing I have noticed, however...  While the greatest number of material available to Wicca and Paganism seems to focus on a Celtic tradition, way more Pagans I have met have found peace in the Greek tradition.  Yet, I have not found much on this published.  Interesting.

funny, I know more people with celtic deities.... but then again, I would! Both Celtic and Greek seem pretty common (relatively speaking) round the Cauldron

Thanks for the welcome posts everyone...

Purplewitch... I know most Pagans choose either Celtic or Greek... I may have met a few here and there with Egyptian, Sumerian, Hindu, etc.

It's all very fascinating I must say.

LOL... well I'd be one to talk about crazy people... it'd be the pot calling the kettle black.

No, I'm just kidding... but I'm normally very hyper and definitely not one who you would think would feel attached/attracted to a Night/Dark Goddess... even that amazes me.

But actual Wiccans seem to be kind of in the minority, and it seems to me that both Brian and Mathew are talking about Wiccans who follow Greek gods rather than any flavour of recon.  Most of the Hellenic, Kemetic, and Celtic people here seem to be, if not hard recon, still more reconstructionist in their approach than Wiccan.

I'm glad someone likes it. Most of us oldtimers still prefer the Beehive format. Smiley

Thanks RandallS.

Well... it may just take some getting used to, but I'm already feeling at home... so whatever changes whoever wants to make, bring it on... I'll get used to it somehow! Smiley

Good point... I'm not wiccan but I'll admit to enough wiccanesque inclinations that being called wiccan really doesn't bother me (my mother in law does it all the time) - but I'm definitely not a reconstructionist either....
