I don't know if this is what you looking for, but when I think 'Artemis' I see her as a stern Lady.
Might be because of the Goddess Oracle, but it feels fitting for me - you might like to check the goddess text there:

http://www.hranajanto.com/goddessgallery/GGF-home.html
Thanks, nice site and I'm still searching for some art to display on my computer desktop. Wink

Not sure if I would call her stern. I think it's more some sort of wild unbendable willpower. 'Stern' sounds like someone occupied with rules and principles. I think she doesn't reflect much on rules and doesn't set principles consciously. I think she's just like some feral force. There's no need for her to be stern because she just is what she is and maybe there are some aspects in her fields of expertise which never change much. Not sure if I'm right with that. It's just how her personality comes across to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

*recon-leaning head begins to hurt*

I should've stopped when I saw the word "Llewellyn."

*lol*  Cheesy
It's the goddess oracle, mel, nothing about recon anywhere Wink
Still I like working with the oracle. It's very useful.

I think art and personal interpretation is useful, but one shouldn't take it for the universal truth. I've painted a picture with window colors from this:

I put it into a circle of green leaves with a moon sicle behind it. Hope she won't get eye cancer from it.

Ah theoi.com: a beacon of historical accuracy and primary sources in a sea of regurgitated Neo-Wicca crap!

Cheesy You were the one suggesting it to me in the first place.

I wish though it had the Greek words in Greek letters since I've had my 2 semesters of ancient Greek and have learned to read the letters at least (although most of the grammar went past me). Reading ye olde English with Greek words thrown in with Latin spelling twists my brain.

Right.
I just posted it because sometimes it might be a single word or a picture that helps one along.

Cheesy You were the one suggesting it to me in the first place.

Oh no, I was speculating what role she may have today.  I was in no way suggesting that she did this in ancient times.  There is a difference somewhere, either that or I'm in denial  Tongue

Wait, I'm talking about the Neo-Wicca crap.  Are you talking about theoi.com?  If so this just may be a bit of confusion on my part. Smiley

Right.
I just posted it because sometimes it might be a single word or a picture that helps one along.
Sorry, didn't want to sound know-it-all or something. I know you don't take the site as 'The Truth'(tm), I just wanted to specify on what I meant when I was saying I find the site 'nice'. I really enjoyed the article. Just a different sort of enjoyment than theoi.com.

I personally can't relate much to ancient drawings/vase pictures. I like the statues though. But I like modern art with deities if it isn't too sirupy (what that site isn't in my regard) or too off base from the ancient deity.

I meant a crescent moon, don't know if you call it a 'sicle' in English.

For what it's worth, I just assumed you meant crescent moon.  I guess it had something to do with the fact that 'sicle' is similar to the English word 'sickle'.
