I'm asking for prayers and such for a lovely young lady who was hit by a car and killed while crossing a road last night.

I'm so sorry for your lose Moon Ivy. I had something similar happen to my family a little over a week ago. You, her family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers. May she find her way home.

Her name was Mary, and she was 20 years old and my husband's friend and co-worker.  She was also an exceptional classical ballet dancer.  Her last performance ended just an hour or two before her death.

Please send comfort in whatever form you prefer to her soul, her family, and her friends.  As you can imagine, they are devastated.

Thank you.

~MI

My husband still cries every day.  It's so sad.  I wish I could find a way to comfort him.  But grief just has to work itself out, I guess.

I'm so sorry, Moon Ivy.  Mary sounds like she was a remarkable young woman.

(((Mr Ivy))), to help him work through his grief.  (((Moon Ivy)), because it's hard to not be able to comfort someone you love.

Wow.  It's really tough to see something so tragic happen to a fellow dancer.

Why wasn't the driver charged?

I don't know what to say about your husband.  Like Sunflower said, it's very difficult to comfort someone you know.  I suppose all you can do is listen and give him many hugs.

At least she was able to dance one last time...

(((MI and Mr MI)))  Take care...

I've read something (and I don't know who said it), but I think it important when it comes to grief.
It goes like this:

Some sad things that happen to us require a thousand tears to be cried.
If you don't cry every single one of those thousand tears, they'll stay inside you and poison you.

*hugs to MI and Mr. MI*
I hope the thousand tears are cried soon and you all find comfort.

Thank you all so much for your posts.  My husband has really been grateful for your good thoughts and comforting words.  He has also been quite surprised that so many people took the time to respond in this thread since you don't know him.  But I explained how most TCers are very caring people.   Wink
