Hey Dragon lovers, how about a Dragon Egg Hunt around Ostara?

Here's how the game works:

step 1) preparation:
- start an account at http://dragcave.net/ if you haven't already
- if you're not new to this site make sure you have enough dragon couples and space left on Ostara

step 2) shortly before ostara: 'hide' your eggs
- breed your dragons to produce three eggs, try to get the best out of them, but commons are also fine
- if you're new just get 3 eggs from the cave

- think of four locations to hide eggs and post them in this thread (note for yourself where you hide which of your three eggs)
- you should do this before the sun enters the sign of aries (can somebody give a link where everybody can look it up for their time zone? for Germany it's 12:44 according to my calendar), depending on your schedule it can be a few minutes before or even two days (if you're without connection around ostara), just make sure you aren't late with posting your hiding location.

Hiding location example:
You come to a forest. You see an old and large oak with a hole in it. Is there an egg? (note to myself: the stone egg). Then you walk along a path and come across a stone which looks like a good hiding place (note to myself: no egg). You go on and discover a low bird's nest (note to myself: the sky wing egg). After a while you see light at the end of the forest and walk out of it, but in passing a hedge catches your eye (note to myself: the silver egg).

(Of course you shouldn't post the notes!)

step 3) At ostara: The egg hunt starts! (sun enters sign of aries)
- if you've posted a hiding location you can now search the hiding locations of other players: read through this thread, select three hiding locations from various other players which haven't already been selected by someone

- contact those players who have selected your hiding locations and give them the eggs they have won from you (or arrange a time to give them the eggs)

- wait till you're contacted by the players whose eggs you have won

- open end of the game, if you are camping out on Ostara you can come later and just search 3 of the remaining locations. There are enough for every player because everyone can only select 3. The eggs might not be fresh any more though and already hatching...  Cheesy

step 4) after the game:
- when every player has selected 3 locations there will be some unlucky eggs left none of the players has discovered. Those remain in the wilderness or are found by passersby. Abandon them to the dragon cave.

How do you like it? Who wants to play? Any suggestions?

I'm not about to get drawn into the dragon addiction, LOL, but I just wanted to say that it sounds like a lot of fun for those who are hooked (or don't mind getting hooked).  Smiley

Hey you all,

since Ostara is in roughly a week you might want to keep an eye on which dragons you need to spare for the big egg day and you'll also need enough free place so be careful with how many hatchlings might be left on Ostara, because too many could restrict you in holding eggs for other players or taking your won eggs.

Hope more people will come to play, but it will also work fine with just three people.

I'm looking forward to it!  Grin

Suggestion:

In addition to the 'path description' where the eggs are hidden, perhaps we could add some fun facts about the three eggs (in random order)?

Like;
The mother of this egg has never/always thrown her type.

Or;
Daddy was a good catch for a Cave Born

Or;
Dragonsoup is the granny of this egg.  Cheesy

I hope too, I want to put my piece together tomorrow evening since I'll be at work when the sun enters aries. If the site isn't up again in time I think we could just do it a wee bit later.

I get to view my scroll occasionally, and I managed to breed two pairs today. The third got interrupted, and the aborted attempt was enough to fill their slot for this week.

It's more often accessible at /user/<yourname> than /account , it looks like, but that doesn't help if you're actually trying to accomplish something.

Oh well, I gendered one, got big holes in two eggs, and got two adults.

I think we should just wait until the site is working again and everyone has their batch of eggs to hide and posted his/her piece. I've managed to breed one so far before the site crashed again.  Undecided

Probably a good idea. Just hope it actually will start working again at some point. Sad

I've just managed to breed a second pair, but it was all really annoying. First they produced three eggs with two valuable ones. But the site told me I could only keep one although I didn't have more than one other egg and two hatchlings before.  Huh Then I needed ages to select one of the three eggs because the site wouldn't load so I was afraid they would all get abandoned automatically after an hour.  Angry

But the two eggs I have got so far are nice ones.  Grin
