I have recently come into the Pagan religion, and am quite intrigued  by it. there is so much i would like to know and learn about it. The first and foremost however is to control my energy manipulations. I can already  do a few minor things, but i honestly dont know much of what i am doing, and dont want to hurt others or myself because i dont know what i am doing. I also have a bad back which a few acquaintances of mine have exploited and built upon, is there anyway to help this? or block or anything? I honestly need someone that can help me and teach me the things i need to know, but i would welcome any suggestions or help.

a) I don't know many of the specific religions of Paganism, so i couldn't tell you which one.

Let's back up a couple of steps, because it sounds like we'd need more information to help you find what you're looking for.

Based on your previous experiences, where have you tried to learn already? Are there any books, websites, etc. that have shaped your interest in energy work? Do you know if there are specific skills you'd like to learn, and if so, any terms you've heard for them would be very helpful. Any of this information would be very helpful.

As Brina points out, there is no single Pagan religion: Pagan is a term for a bunch of different religions which have some similarities, but also many differences. Reading the Pagan Primer over in the left hand sidebar (http://www.ecauldron.net/newpagan.php) is a good place to start.

Witchvox is an international Pagan networking site found at http://witchvox.com : while I don't live in Seattle, I know there are a number of groups in the area, and that several of them teach introductory classes that might cover some of the material you're interested in. You should be aware that more involved energy work is often taught within a more specific context, like a particular kind of magical practice, Pagan religion, or other similar group - in large part because a lot of how you go about it depends on what you want to *do* with it, and different paths will focus on different techniques.

Does that give you some better places to start working on the next set of questions that might help you find what you're looking for?

There are many reasons someone's back might be painful - generally, figuring out what's going on is easiest if there's someone physically able to watch you, talk to you about what's going on, etc, especially if you think it's being affected by other people's actions, or by your own energy work.)

Thank you very much for that website above! I searched through the websites offered on that page for explanations of the different forms of Paganism. Naturally choosing what you believe in is more difficult than reading one website and saying "that's what I believe!" but I do want to take a much closer look into Druidism.

As for energy work, I have had no training whatsoever, Simply from a few friends here and there that have helped me to form my own " protective bubble" or shield, and taught me a better form of meditation. I want to be able to better protect myself and those that need it.
I also am a healer by nature, I use my energy to help those that are hurting, usually through massage. I would like to have some formal training on healing energy.

Also, for my back, I have had back pain for over 5 years, it started with a lumbar sprain twice by the age of 17. I have gone to chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and physical therapists. I have also had friends who are also healers by nature help me in anyway they can. I have had "friends" take the pain and embellish on it making it impossible to be able function properly.
Only through meditation and shielding and the help of true friends was i able to overcome those who were hindering any recovery. My pain has severely diminished because i am trying to better myself through many different means. but i would greatly appreciate anyone who could teach me the ability to shield myself better from those who continuously want to hinder my recovery.
