On your current spiritual path or religion? This is just a poll, if you will.

Was it something you realized right away and just "knew" was right for you OR did you have to research and study to decide? Do you remember how long it took you to come to that conclusion?

Well, here's the deal. From the first moments that I discovered Wicca, I *knew* it was my path. There was an almost audible "click" of "this is it!"

However, I had a lot of indoctrination that anything other than Christianity was bad. So for the next 8 years I considered myself Wiccan and did the occasional ritual, but at the same time I continued to research a bunch of other religions "just in case" I hadn't really found my path, always bouncing back to Wicca. Finally I got completely fed up with my lack of committment and did a ritual asking the Gods to show me the right spiritual path for me (I even asked for it in writing, because I know I can be dense!)

Exactly three days later I was driving, and pulled up behind this car I had never seen that had a bumper sticker reading, "Witches--Not for burning".

Ever since then, I haven't looked back! And I have been happily learning and growing and experiencing my spirituality via Wicca ever since!

So in answer to your question, I did both! I "knew" right away, AND I researched for years!

As far as knowing though, i wanted to be a witch when I grew up.  So, I grew up and became one.

Oh, *twinkles*.

That happened to me as well! When I discovered Wicca, I was 14 and I remember making my bed one day and I said (forcefully) "Someday, I'm going to be a strong, powerful Witch that does good in the world!".

I'm on my way (training and learning much still as I figure out what my "Work" in the world is to be, and trying to improve it along the way). Incidentally, I married a man whose last name (when translated) means "Witch". Ha!

I guess the Universe delivers!

  I think it's much easier to know what is not right for you than what is,  so I have to say it began a long time ago for me. I always felt that I was a Pagan, but what form ?  I don't have a problem with the search being an ongoing work in progress.  I may give up some of my eclectic ideas and settle on one defined path someday, and then maybe it will never happen.

When I first discovered paganism, I decided on Wicca right away. After 3 years of that, I was strongly drawn to Greek deities and Hellenic religion, so I decided to practice pure Hellenic polytheism. I suppose it was more of a process than a precise moment when I made a decision.
