During treatment she lost her hair, so she needed hats to keep her head warm.  I made her several, and she was given a number of others- most of them funny.

There were pictures of her in some of the more silly ones as I recall. I don't remember if they were posted to the board or to a photo album somewhere.

I just lit our candle in Chavi's memory. It will burn all day for her here in Texas.

I just remembered that today was Chavi's yahrzeit.  May her memory be a blessing to us all.

I'm going to be lighting a candle later (one of my local beeswax candles that were going to be used for Bast, but I don't think She minds), and am in the midst of putting up an avatar with a funny hat.

Here's my little e-candle for Chavi, as I have to go out soon, and I have no where to leave a burning candle for when I'm gone (and I don't think it would appropriate to leave it in the bottom of my shower).

I just spent a good hour in the archives looking for the pictures of her at the science fiction con (Pantheacon?) she attended, where she had her head painted with a dragon.

I couldn't find it in her cancer thread, but I didn't expect to, really.  I think it was in an independent thread, but the search won't work for me and I can't even get on the social board from 2006.  I think it was actually on the 2005 board, though, come to think of it.

Maybe somebody else has a better idea of where exactly to look?

I lit the candle at 8 pm here in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. It burnt until around 9:45 pm (I thought it would burn longer).

It seems symbolically appropriate.  We all thought Chavi's candle would burn longer too.  Sad

Sadly, I don't and search never worked that well on Beehive -- at least not for me.

I just lit our candle in Chavi's memory. It will burn all day for her here in Texas.

My candles are currently packed in a box somewhere, but I'm wearing a wild hat for her.  Smiley

My candle for her has been burning for a little over 12 hours now.  I will blow it out at midnight (or about 20 minutes).

I just spent a good hour in the archives looking for the pictures of her at the science fiction con (Pantheacon?) she attended, where she had her head painted with a dragon.

I remember that.  The dragon was such a work of art.  I remember she did a photo album, I believe of some of her more interesting hats.  There was this beaded headdress someone had made for her in one of the photos, it was gorgeous.

I don't know if she posted any pictures in thread or if they were all linked to an album.

Those pictures are why I shopped around until I found a very warm Guatemalan design hat in bright primary colors.  Every time I see it, I remember her.  I'm wearing it now for her.  She had a way of expressing herself that made me look for threads she'd posted in and I learned some valuable lessons from the spirit and passion in her messages.

She was a wonderful person, and I miss her.

The very silly hat in my avatar is one I made and meant to send her, but I (and she) ran out of time.  It's still "hers" in my mind.  I wear it every winter and think of her when I do.

The candle I lit at 7pm last night is still burning. Good kitties didn't prowl much last night.

A little late posting

I'm also late in posting, but I lit a candle at 7pm eastern to catch some of the ocean time and it burned until 11pm.

I'll see you someday Chavi. I can't wait to meet you.  I miss you.
