One of my friends runs a D&D game based in her own world, using the Advanced D&D Books. I picked up a few off eBay really cheap: The Player Manual, something about spells, and the book with the skills in it. They're downstairs in the totebag we take to the game.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here had some AD&D books they're ready to get rid of, before I go back into eBay to pick up a few more of that set. I wouldn't mind having a second Player Handbook so we each have our own, since the DH games along with me.

Which edition (1st or 2nd)?  If 1st, the free ORSIC rules will probably work just as well as a PH.

Forget to mention where to find OSRIC: http://www.knights-n-knaves.com/osric/

Second edition, of course. We don't use them a ton during games (she's a pretty free-form DM who prefers story-telling and character acting to a lot of dice rolls) but we (the DH and I) might eventually want to do our own game with the stuff. He's not really in love with the newer versions of D&D. We have a starter kit for one of the newer versions. Don't think it's *the* newest.

2nd core books are fairly cheap on ebay.  OSRIC is a first edition retroclone.

I preferred editions are the original from 1974 and the Basic/Expert (and later) sets from the 1980s. Both of which have nice, free retroclones (Swords & Wizardry and Labyrith Lord. And I wrote a style clone of the original that uses the standard systems from 3rd edition (Microlite74).  3.x does not impress me all that much and the new 4e -- to me -- is D&D in name only. Sad

If you can wait a week, I'll look at what I have in storage.

Our kit might be 3.5. I'd have to go dig it out. I mainly bought it because I thought it might be easy to play with our non-gaming friends. I find character generation confusing, but once I get that done I'm good to go. We've got friends in our Star Trek group who seem really interested in trying tabletop RPG but are completely intimidated by the entire process. =P

Yeah, sure. We've got enough books to get us through the game we're playing now, and I don't think we're meeting up for another session for another month what with Easter coming up.

Yeah, sure.

Dungeon Master Guide, 2nd edition.
Monsterous Manual, 2nd edition.
Player's Handbook, 2nd edition.

The exteriors show a little wear from being in storage, but the insides are new.  I bought these with the intention of forming a group about ten years ago and it never happened.

Drop me a pm with a mailing address and they're yours. Smiley
