And while Hellenism is generally orthopractic, simply going through the motions doesn't impress Her - going the extra mile does. Some deities are all about the challenge and the agon and Artemis is one of them. (So's Athene, and I'm sworn to both. What is it about me and the hard Ladies?)
There's a forest care project in the summer holidays I plan to volunteer work at for a week. Since I never find the time for doing a big ritual all alone maybe that counts as extra mile.

That sounds ideal. I did some of my earliest devotions to Artemis during a survival exercise years ago, and it certainly stuck  Smiley
