I realize this is probably really late but..  Cheesy Who is everyone rooting for? Or has your team already been knocked out?

I don't have a "team" per se (see: place of residence and bitterness at lack of team), but right now I am really rooting for Vancouver, as they seem to be the only Canadian team consistent in winning. I also really like Pittsburgh. I was also rooting for San Jose, Columbus (who is already out), and Montreal, but it sadly seems like all three of them are destined to be kicked out in the first round. Sad

Being that I live near Detroit, I think it is obvious who I root for.  Go WINGS!

I don't follow hockey at all, so I don't even know who is in contention.  Sorry.

You're routing for Vancouver because they're winning?

I support the St Louis Blues. It's a shame our season ended like it did *sigh*

Sorry for not clarifying. ^_^; I was rooting for Vancouver BEFORE the playoffs (in fact since the beginning of the season).. they're just now the only team I was originally rooting for that seem to have made it past the first round. :\

I'm also more of a fan of the goaltenders, rather than a team.

Vancouver's goaltender is fantastic. Seriously, I think that the Blues could have stood a much better chance if not for Luongo (sp?)

You got it right. Smiley

Yeah, Luongo is a beast, and he has really kept them in there when the team did a nose dive. I wasn't quite sure if they were going to really make it in the playoffs, but they have done outstandingly in the past weeks.

Although on the upside for you, quite a couple of your players (including Steve Mason) got invited to the IIHF tournament, so thats cool. Smiley

Since I feel its necessary, plus to keep those of you who don't really watch, but are curious...

In the Eastern Conference...

Boston Bruins vs Montreal Canadiens
Boston swept the Canadiens in a 4-0 series (which is sad, because of the sharp decline since the All-Star Games, plus this is their 100 year Anniversary)

New York Rangers vs Washington Capitals
The series is currently 3-2 for the Rangers, with the Capitals having gotten a 4-0 shut out two days ago, and are playing Game 6 tomorrow (Sunday).

New Jersey Devils vs Carolina Hurricanes
The Devils are leading the series 3-2, after flip-flopping the past 5 games and Jersey winning yesterday 1-0. Game 6 is being played tomorrow (Sunday).

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Philadelphia Flyers
The Penguins beat the Flyers in a 4-2 series after winning the game today, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3 (ouch again).

In the Western Conference...

Anaheim Ducks vs San Jose Sharks
The Ducks are leading the series 3-2, with the Sharks having won today's game 3-2 in overtime. Game 6 will be played Monday.

Detroit Red Wings vs Columbus Blue Jackets
The Red Wings swept the Blue Jackets 4-0. This is the first trip to the playoffs for the Blue Jackets in their entire franchise with rookie goaltender Steve Mason, who made an amazing 10 regular season shut outs. *

Vancouver Canucks vs St. Louis Blues
The Canucks sweep the Blues in a 4-0 series win.

Chicago Blackhawks vs Calgary Flames
The 'Hawks lead the series 3-2 after winning 5-1 over the Flames today. Game 6 will be played Monday.

* For the record, the league record for most shut outs in a regular season by a rookie goaltender is 15 held by Tony Esposito.

Time for round 2!!!  Wings take on the Ducks and I believe they will win this one.  I see Vancouver beating the Blackhawks.  That would make a delightful Conference Finals for the West.
