Recently a friend of mine told me a story that really gave my faith in people a boost.  This friend of mine usually lunches in a park near her work.  She generally packs extra food in her lunch to give people who pan handle near the park.  The other day a man who was most likely homeless gave her some flowers he had picked and said that he wished he could give her a dozen roses but his bunch of handpicked wildflowers was all he had to offer her.  He did not ask her for anything, he just wanted to give her something nice because he had seen her give food to people during her lunch.  I was really touched by such kindness between strangers.

That's wonderful - thanks for sharing. Smiley I'm trying to think of any random acts of kindness I've encountered... anyone else have a story?

I have a chronic illness and for a time even had to go on chemo (IV treatments, not the radiation) so I was at the hospital a lot. Usually when I noticed really down people hanging out in the waiting rooms with me, I'd compliment them on something. Their boots, or a necklace, or whatever. It wasn't much but pretty much everyone responded with a smile. And I know first hand how a hospital stay can make you feel like a drugged-up ugly toad.

What an inspiring story, thank you for sharing it.
