A wormhole (a theoretical "warp" in spacetime connecting two points but requiring "exotic matter" -- which may not exist -- to remain open) might look just like a black hole from outside according to a new hypothesis.

A wormhole might look just like a black hole from outside according to a new hypothesis.

Since both would have a nearly identical structure well beyond the limits of our observation, I can see that it would be quite difficult to tell the difference
