Not the same, but probably every bit as effective.  You have to wonder if this bottle was specially made to be a witch bottle or if bottles like this one were common at the time.

Well the Bellarmine Jars  were originally German (IIRC)  and produced to hold wine and beer. I expect they were relatively hard to acquire unless you had money. I can't imagine they were cheap. Possibly this was believed to add to the effectiveness?

Quite possibly.

Using such a bottle would have been a 'sacrifice' and thereby worth more 'magically'.
