Hi to everyone!

This year was the first I celebrated the Summer’ Solstice by honoring the fair Aine… in spite of my interest in Celtic mythology, I never feel as comfortable with Celtic deities as I do with Greek ones. If logic was at use, I should be a fervent Brigit devotee: I was born the first day of her month, I study to become a medical doctor, try of breaking thought as a writer and fancy myself a bit of a craft-woman in my free time. Yet, when I worship Brigit I never feel that special thrill I do when my patron is involved.

This year, I put a special effort in researching Aine so I could properly pay homage to Her… I discovered a strong pull toward Her unlike I had ever felt toward any other of Her pantheon. I burned flowers as offering at my altar and felt Her presence as a deep, musical laughter, passionate and free as the sun-born heat that suddenly burned under my skin.

I became even more fascinated with Her.

I wonder if someone here would feel comfortable sharing his/her understanding of Her character or experiences about Aine. I did a lot of research but theory can only cover that much. So far I got the feel She was a fiercely passionate Goddess, but that there’s also a loving gentleness about Her.

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ~ Anatole France
