Live, Love, and Laugh

I once asked someone.
What do you see through your tears?
Why do you go on through the pain?
She said "As long as you live, love, and laugh
Everything will be fine."

Someone else once asked me.
How can you endure all this?
How do you get out of bed in the morning?
I said "As long as you live, love, and laugh
Everything will be fine."

When people come to me to cry
When my children scrape their knees
When horror and sorrow infuse the world
I will say "As long as you live, love, and laugh
Everything will be fine."

And in my old age
Even on my deathbed, I will still
Live, love, and laugh,
Until my dying breath.
And everything will be fine.

This poem, to a certain extent, has become the center of my personal philosophy.  Other poems of mine might show you how I think, but this poem is a great deal of who I am.

Live, Love, and Laugh

This poem, to a certain extent, has become the center of my personal philosophy.

I think that is an excellent personal philosophy.  And it is by no means an easy was out.

Thank you for sharing this.

I have seen plaques with "Live, Love, Laugh"  for sale many times, and almost bought them for my home --- your poem just breathed life and real meaning into  the words.

I now want to go get those plaques and hang them beside my sign
that says "there can be no crisis this week: my schedule is too full."
