It comes a moment when a girl decides to improve her ipod with a mystical playlist... I read similiar threads on tC, but I still wnred f you have additional suggestions for songs that remind you of deities from the Greek pantheon. Here I go with mines:

Hekate:

Lady Geneva- Inkubus Sukkubus
The Forgotten Goddess- Echoes Of Eternity
Dead In The Water-Hawthorne Heights
I'll Stand b You- Annie Lennox
Bad vibes, Good vibes -Liv Kristine

Dionysos:

Burn it to the ground- Nickelback
Bacchante- Theatre Of Tragedy

Aphrodite:
Venus -theatre of tragedy
Ava Adore-Smashing Pumpkins
Erotic Angel- Inkubus Sukkubus

Gaia
Sorella Terra -Laura Pausini

I actually think of Hekate (and Persephone) when listening to that Hawthorne Heights song.  Off the top of my head, I might also suggest "Building a Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan.

"Haunted," "Snow White Queen," and "Lose Control" all by Evanescence.

I do- I actually keep the list here http://painandlight.wordpress.com/music-for-the-gods/ (The list is much longer than what I have pasted here, it includes a lot of instrumental music as well)

Some of these are much more personal associations especially some of those for Apollo that will likely not make sense to others, but most of them, I think people will understand.

Aphrodite

    * Maria- Blondie

Apollo

    * Alpha- Airlock
    * Breaking Point- The Moody Blues
    * Dreaming Blade- Rhea’s Obsession
    * Gravity- Vienna Teng
    * Kyrie- Mr. Mister
    * The Other Side Of Life- The Moody Blues
    * Possession- Sarah McLachlan
    * Quiet Hour- Airlock
    * Sky- Violet Indiana

Ares

    *Ares- Break Dawn

Dionysus

    * Breaking Point- The Moody Blues
    * Dionysus Child- Gideon Smith And The Dixie Damned
    * Here Comes The Weekend- The Moody Blues
    * One Wild Night- Bon Jovi
    * The Other Side Of Life- The Moody Blues
    * Vintage Wine- The Moody Blues

Hephaestus

    * Ladies and Gentlemen- Saliva

Hermes

    * Mercury- Heidi Berry
    * Prayer for the Dying- Seal

Hypnos

    * In The Arms of Sleep- Smashing Pumpkins
    * Sleep- Imogen Heap
    * Sleep- Plumb

Persephone

    * Secret Life- Thriving Ivory

Selene

    * Cool Change- Little River Band
    * Endymion Sleeps- Scarlet’s Well
    * Naked Sleep- Anggun

That's absolutely perfect for Hekate!

Also, Arabian themes always make me think of Aprodite...if only because I find them deeply sensual.
Poison by Alice Cooper also reeks of Aphrodite Scotia.

For Persephone, now I remember better:

Silver and Cold- AFI

Now I'll be off checking fiamma's list... it looks deliciously extensive.

Few additions:
In the Heart of Juliet by Liv Kristine  for Kore and 'Dance of Hecate' by Stormlord for Hekate, if you like metal ballads (I don't, particularly so, and it puts me slightly off that describes Hekate as a crone, but that's only taste)

I found out those today:

Hymn to Pan by Rhea's Obsession
Artemis by Wendy Rule
Hecate by Wendy Rule
 Hecate (Queen Of Hades) by Hades Almighty
And Hecate smiled -by virgin steele

Rhea's Obsession and Wendy Rule are awesome, I love them.

Now I rediscovered Rhea's obsession - I used to be an obsessive fan of La Femme Nikita in my teen years, so I found their songs in the show's soundtrack at first- I adore them. I love that you pointed out that Dreaming Blade is so much an Apollo's song. Now I think I won't be able to listen it again without thinking of Him.

Yesterday evening I was listening o my Phantom Of Opera soundtrack... does someone else think that  the song 'Phantom of Opera' recalls strongly patron-devotee relationships?
Especially these verses:

In sleep he sang to me,
in dreams
he came . . .that voice which calls to me
and speaks
my name . . .

Those who
have seen your face
draw back
in fear . . .
I am
the mask you wear . . .
PHANTOM
It's me
they hear . . .
BOTH
Your/my spirit
and your/my voice,
in one

Ah..I never watched that show, forget how I first discovered their music and I really wish they were still around. That was one of the ones that I didn't really expect others to understand the association. Then again, I didn't really expect anyone to know the song to begin with...lol.

I've been planning on writing a blog post about this for awhile, actually, so this can be kind of a rough draft.

Dionysos
Alan Parsons: "The Call Of The Wild"
Bear McCrary: "Passacaglia" (from the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack)
Dead Can Dance: "Tell Me About The Forest (You Once Called Home)"
Sting: "Desert Rose"
Trevor Jones: "the Kiss"
Rihanna: "Umbrella"

Aphrodite
Madonna: "Like A Prayer"
Mazzy Star: "Into Dust"
Mother Love Bone: "Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns"
Emerson Lake & Powell: "Love Blind"
Dead Can Dance: "Saldek"
Bear McCrary: "Passacaglia" (from the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack)
Rihanna: "Umbrella"

Yeah, there's some overlap.

Hekate:

Lady Geneva- Inkubus Sukkubus
The Forgotten Goddess- Echoes Of Eternity
Dead In The Water-Hawthorne Heights
I'll Stand b You- Annie Lennox
Bad vibes, Good vibes -Liv Kristine

Sarah Brightman- Beautiful Day
Florence and the Machine- Rabbit Heart (Raise it up)
David Bowie- Underground

I think these will suit Persephone as well.

Having gone off and found the song out of sheer curiosity--I get it.  I totally get it.  I'm not sure I would have made the connection on my own (I'm not great with that sometimes, beyond the really obvious "hey, a song about sun/sunshine/etc.", which is why I haven't chimed in with my own playlist), but once mentioned?  Yes, definitely.

I think these will suit Persephone as well.

You know, I just listened Rabbit Heart and it struck me as more of Kore/Persephone song, remarkedly so.

I have a song for Artemis : The Howling by Within Temptation.

It sounds so much like an hymn to the wild hunt to me so I suppose you might apply it to Hekate as well.

Although not from a collection of artists, I purchased a CD off of iTunes music store called:

Olympus  by Kelly Andrew Kaveny

It is twelve classical/orchestral songs, one for each Olympian. My favorites are: Ares, Poseidon, Athena, Hermos.
Poseidon is a very fun song, the artist gave him the feel of a rock god.

Cheers
