I'm still doing a lot of much needed reading. I've heard of beings like dragons and frost giants existing, and I assumed thats on a non-physical/spiritual level that most people can't sense. Am I right?

You assume correctly (at least in my opinion)

These creatures (dragons, gnomes and such) are sensed or seen usually on the astral side.  I havent experienced it my self (i dont work with astrals to much) but I know people who do work with them and this is what they tell me is that they can sense them but not see them in the physical world but they see and converse through the astral world

Thanks for the clarification. I believe my (new) teacher is heavily into astral stuff. He sensed a dragon in my yard and 4 past away people in my house (I live down the road from a cemetary).
I say new teacher because after the last one refused to answer questions I ditched her for another.

Whoo! Glad I stumbled across this. I've been wondering the same thing.

Wow, this is a good one. I myself have never associated or even believed in mythological creatures. To tell the truth, it's embarassing to even talk about. Like, one might as well be talking about bigfoot. I find it very strange that in order to come into contact with the forces of the universe, we have made up creatures. Can't they just be unknowable, formless energies? Or am I missing the point completely? I know it's wrong to answer a question with a question, but I just can't help it.

This lack of faith in elemental creatures is I suppose the main issue which seperates me from Wiccans. What, that and the whole you-don't-need-elaborate-rituals-and-information-from-established-systems thing. I have a collection of fairies, all different sizes and makes. But I don't think of them as representations of living things. They're just cool decorations to me.

Hi, Barnicle - please remember to leave the quote in when you're replying, as per the Quoting Guidelines; they help make sure people can keep track of conversations.  Thanks!
