Good Morning, All....
I am very new to this, so please overlook or at least tolerate my ignorance.  I am greatly distressed for--in just three days--wolf season begins.  Is there any way a spell of protection can be placed on either wolves in general or the Yellowstone packs in particular?
I will appreciate any help you can give me.

i would talk to the local land spirits and see if you can get some advice from them. In my experience, they will let you know what they need from you. If Wolves are important to you, or an animal guide of yours, you could try to talk to them directly, to let them know what is going on, although they are so cranky and cagey you might not get much response out of them. Still, it's worth a shot, I think, just so they know you are doing what you can to help. You might want to do a protective boundary working of some kind, if you have property that may be affected, or if there is public land that you can access for that purpose.

Goddess grant me:
  The power of Water,
to accept with ease & grace what I cannot change.

  The power of Fire,
for the energy & courage to change the things I can.

  The power of Air,
for the ability and wisdom to know the difference.

  And the power of Earth,
for the strength to continue my path.

Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions......I shall do my best to implement them.  I'll try the protective boundary working as we have a  ranch on which wolves (and grizzlies) are wanted and welcome.  Will also try contacting them directly....hadn't thought of that.  And perhaps I can call on some Goddess assistance....

I'm not sure if there is any historical accuracy to this Goddess, because it's a family tradition/UPG (would that be UFG: Unsubstantiated Familial Gnosis?), but my mother and I have always associated a being named Sylva with wolves and the forests. Wolves are our family aumakua, totem, whatever word you wish -- they're incredibly special to us and have been moral and spiritual guides for the past 40+ years for mom and for my entire life.

I've always felt Sylva to be real, whether She's a historical deity or a new one that my mom created. Either way, you could consider Her. Smiley

I wish you luck with this endeavor, as it's close to my heart as well.  Undecided

"i am not an angry girl, but it seems like i've got everyone fooled -- every time i say something they find hard to hear they chalk it up to my anger and never to their own fear. and imagine you're a girl, just trying to finally come clean, knowing full well they'd prefer you were dirty and smiling."

I'm not sure if there is any historical accuracy to this Goddess, ... but my mother and I have always associated a being named Sylva with wolves and the forests.
So here's what I could find on the matter. There is a demi-goddess of the forest by the name of Rhea Silvia. She was a priestess who, mated with Mars(a god who's sacred animal is the Wolf), & gave birth to Romulus & Remus(founders of rome who were saved by a she-wolf after being orphaned in the wild).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhea_Silvia

So, it seems she does very much exist, being a demi-goddess of the forests & closely linked to wolves.
