What this book is not: It is not a collection of ghost stories to amuse
yourself with, although there are quite a few stories in here. It is not a
manual to enable you to become a "ghost hunter.
What this book is: It is a source of information on the various forms of
sprit manifestations and how to distinguish between them.
Ms. Telesco has written on a wide variety of topics. This just adds one
more category to her repertory.
The author lists various possibilities, both pro and con, for each of the
various types of entities and hauntings. This is, essentially, a "fluff
book." There is nothing new or startling in it. The stories are short and
drawn from personal experiences and the experience of Tricia's
acquaintances.
It was fun to read and did offer a few unusual facts and opinions. You
might enjoy it as a curiosity, but if you are looking to learn much, this is
a bit light.
It is an excellent of information for distinguishing between the various
types of entities one is likely to encounter. For that, it is an excellent
source. I might even go so far as to say that it would be an excellent book
to pick up as a stocking stuffer for Yule, since that season is rapidly
approaching.
